First I went into my dads trunk and got out the tire jack and the car jack out of the trunk. Then I made sure the car was on a flat strip of ground, made sure it was in park and pulled the parking brake. Then I put the jack under the car frame. Then I took off the hub cap and loosend the lug nuts, and jacked the side of the car with the tire I was changing up. From there I removed all the lug nuts. Then I gave the tire a little tap and pulled it off, put the new tire on then put the lug nuts back on and made sure they were tight. Next I put the hubcap on then let the jack down slowly and put the tire jack and car jack back in the trunk.

One area were you are not allowd to pass is were there are sighns that say "no passing" becuase there is obvisaly a reason why they put the sighns up there. So you can be sure its not safe to pass there. Another area is around corners you are not allowd to pass. This is becuase you cant see around the corner and could hit an on coming car. Also you can not pass on hills because you cant see over the hill crest and could hit a car coming over the hill. Also you are not alowed to pass at an intersection becuase you may get hit by someone to the right or left of you from the other roads at the intersection. Also you can not pass if there is somthing obstructing your view becuase there could be a car you dont see and ones you try to pass and see it, it could be to late. 2)Type 2 writing: Describe how to time your arrival to get to an intersection with a green light. Power point can be found in Module 6. Post assignment by Sunday, 7/22

One thing you could do to time the arival at a greenlight is to slow down a bit and continue down the street at a slower pace to time your arival to a greenlight.

3.Type 2 writing: Explain the benefits of keeping a 4 second following distance. Use power point presentation 7.03 to help you with this assignment. Post assignment by Sunday ,7/22.

One benifit of keeping a 4 second following distance is that you have more time to react if the guy in front has to stop really quickly. Another benifit is that you can apply your breaks softer than if you had a closer following distance. Whitch would give you a better chance of not getting rear ended by a guy behind you. One other benifit is that you can see farther in front if you have a 4 second following distance rather than a 2 second following distance because you would be really close to the car and couldn't see around the car as easy.

Graduated licensing is the stuff or steps you must go though to move up.Like if I have a permit I must keep it for atleast a year with out any recalls.say I got a speeding ticket and got 3 points on my permit they would recall it for 90 days then i would have to wait longer to get my juniors operating licence. Also i must have atleast 40 hours of driving ,10 being night time driving.I think this is a good law.It makes sure that your accually ready to drive alone before you would beable get your licence.Like if they move up all those steps you must not have been doing a bad at driving because if you speed or something else like have 6 or more accumulating points you will not get your licence for another 90 days. Also it prepares young drivers for driving and you got some one with you to help you for your first 1 year of driving.

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- Vermont lawmakers are considering a proposal to add a $1 fee on motor vehicle registrations to raise money for people who suffer traumatic brain injuries.
The Brain Injury Association of Vermont estimates the fee could raise up to $600,000 a year. A legislative study committee is expected to recommend it in December.
State Sen. Edward Flanagan, who chairs the Traumatic Brain Injury Study Committee, suffered a head injury in a 2005 car accident and needed almost a year to recover. "The details are still being worked on, but what we are considering is providing targeted case management for Vermonters with traumatic brain injuries who wouldn't otherwise have assistance," said Flanagan.
"The fee would create a special trust fund to help people out if they have run through all their services through their health insurance provider or may not have insurance at all," said Flanagan.
Currently, vehicle registration - for most cars - costs $60.

I think this would be a great idea because its only one more dollar and if every one who gets their car inspeced pays just 1 more dollar thats alot of money to help out the traumatic brain injured victims and stuf. Also 1 dollar wont really affect any one much at all.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Gov. Eliot Spitzer said his new plan to make it easier for illegal immigrants to get driver's licenses, while making one of the most secure licenses in the nation, is the result of long conversations with Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff.
Spitzer told The Associated Press Thursday that there's "enormous support from those who understand these are the objectives."
Spitzer's new plan is aimed at protecting the state's border with Canada from terrorism as well as easing cross-border economic growth of northern communities from Buffalo to Plattsburgh.
Under Spitzer's new administrative order, New York will be the fourth state to agree on federally approved secure licenses, following Arizona, Vermont and Washington.
Opponents, including Senate Republican Leader Joe Bruno, said they find Spitzer's new three-tiered license plan flawed because illegal immigrants could still get a license.

I guess I think that would be a bad idea to make it easier for illegal immigrants because if we dont want illegal immigrants crossing the boarder they shouldnt be able to get licenses and stuf.

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) -- Actor Lane Garrison has been sentenced to 40 months in a California prison for a drunken driving crash that killed a teenage student.
Lane Garrison leaves a courthouse in March. The former "Prison Break" actor received a sentence Wednesday.
Garrison was driving a 2001 Land Rover when he lost control and rammed a tree in December 2006. The crash killed Vahagn Setian, a Beverly Hills High student, and injured two 15-year-old girls in the car.
Garrison had a blood-alcohol content of 0.20 percent, more than twice the legal limit for driving, and was under the influence of cocaine, according to police.
The actor pleaded guilty in May to one count of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence, one count of driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level of 0.15 percent or higher and a misdemeanor of providing alcohol to a minor.
At his last court appearance August 2, the actor apologized to the victim's family.
"I have relived that night every day and I think about the bad decisions I made. I can say to you I am so sorry that you lost someone because I love people. That is my first passion," he said.
Garrison is best known for his role in the Fox series "Prison Break."

I think that this is good he is going to for 40 month and that he didnt get any special treatment just because hes an actor.I think its good hes going to jail also because he was endangering the teens lives driveing drunk and every one knows driving drunk makes you have a better chance of crashing because you have a slower reaction time and other things like that.

Assignment 6/25
2) Click on this url for the Department of Motor Vehicles. Your assinment is to do a type 3 writing. Your 3 FCA's are 1. Describe the point system in Vermont using the state statutes found this page, 2. Use the spell check,3.give your feeling about the law.http://www.leg.state.vt.us/statutes/sections.cfm?Title=23&Chapter=025 This paper will need to be posted by Saturday 6/30 !!

From what I read the point system is a system they made to I.d. reckless or negligent drivers and frequent violators of traffic regulations. Also if you get 10 or more point the government suspends your licence for a certain amount of time depending on the suverity of the laws you broke. But not all violations gine you 10 points on your record.like sppeding only gives you 3 points depending on how fast and stuff unless you just have a permit, then it gets recalled.I guess I think this system is a good system because then you know that some of the reckless drivers are taken off the road. Also its good to know that the reckless and dangerous drivers get in trouble for driving recklessly in stead of just getting a ticket.

3.Find a news article dealing with traffic safety and do a type 1 write reflecting your thoughts on the article. This will be do on 6/27, Wednesday!!

GOSHEN, N.H. -- A fire truck ran off a road and crashed on its way to a car accident Tuesday, injuring two people inside.
A volunteer firefighter and a passenger were hurt when the fire truck's cab came off and crashed to the ground after the truck ran off the right side of the road shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday, police said.
The driver, volunteer firefighter John Herr, 53, told police he was hanging up his microphone after speaking on the radio when the right side tires went into the soft shoulder. He could not bring the truck back onto the road.
Herr was treated and released. His passenger, John Hopkins, 71, was admitted with head and possible chest injuries.
I guess that I would say that I agree with the fact he didnt get in trouble cause he was doing what he was suposed to do for the job and he just must of made a mistake or just couldn't couldnt recover after the truck drifted to the side of the road.

4.Explain the three types of roadway signs and how you can tell the difference between them. Give two examples of each sign. This will be due and posted on 6/26!!

Final Exam
After I watched "crash site" I found out that I was the passenger. The driver of the vehicle in this program was drunk and he had two passengers with him and one was me. Then he crashed ,killed the other passenger and the biker. Then I wake up in the hospital and then they ask me questions like my age and about if I would drive with a drunk driver and stuf. Then I went to a school, a hospital, police station and lawyer's office. First I went to the hospital and learned about the effects achole and marrawana have your brain. I learned that when you drink it can blurr your vision and it can make you have bad judgement and make you make bad decisions when your drunk. Also it can make it so messages reach your brain slower. Also say it affects ur memmory. It also talks about some affect of smoking marawana and how it can affect your memmory. Also it talks about how crashes affect ur brain and how they can cause bleeding in ur head and how it can cause brain damage. It also talks about the 3 crashes. One was the car hitting an object, the second was you head hitting an object and the other one was your brain hitting your skull. Then I talked to a lawyer and she basicly talked about what the punishement could be and how much drinking and driving can cost you. Like one girl was drinking and and driving and killed 4 teens. Even though she didnt mean to mean to kill them she could still could be faceing up to 60 year in jail with no possiblity of perole because she knew she could hurt some one and she shouldn't have been drinking and driving. Also it talked about the price it could cost you if you drink and drive and are caught. Like if you drank and drove it would cost you atleast 14 thousand dollars once you were all done with it and thats if you didnt crash or anything like that. So it basicly talked about how much trouble you can really get into drinking and driving. Then after that I went to the school and talked to this guy.It told me somethings I could say to perswade some one not to drink and drive. Like it says to say stuf that wont embarass them or affend them like "You look tired you might get stoped and they might smell beer" and stuf like that. Also it should an impaired driver talking about how he got in a crash and killed this girl and how it was in jail and how he felt and what he goes though every day. Then they showed what the victim and victims familly and friends might go though. Like there was this teenager getting ready to go to colledge and loved sports. Then she got in a crash and she got hurt bad and her knee got hurt and her wrist got broke making it 1in. shorter. Also she broke her ribs witch punctured her lung so she really cant play sports any more. Lastly a victims familly talked about how they miss their teenage daughter and how its hard to have partys and birth days with out her there because it makes them think about her. Lastly I talked to a police officer. He talked about what the steps are once you get arrested. I also saw some picturesof people who got in crashes. He also talked about what he sees and stuf when he gets to crash sites. Then he talks about some sighns of people driving drunk like if a driver is driving with is lights off thats 30% chance hes drunk and if their weaving theres a 60% chance they're drunk. The steps after getting arresated are:1.getting pulled over2.field sobriety test3.then your read your miranda rights4.then you get a breathayzer test5.then you have to pay the fine or bill6.Then you arrange a court date7.Then you go on your trial
So after doing this assignment I learned drinking and driving is more dangerous than I thought. Also I learned like alittle what the parents feel and ussally when I hear about a crash and some one dies I dont think about what the familly is going though and stuf. So I guess I learned drinking and driving is a high risk thing to do thats not neccasary to do and can hurt alot of people even if theres only 1 victim.
